Salvation is free for everyone – including you.

We’ve all wondered at some point whether God really exists…and if He truly cares about us. At the heart of the Bridging the Gap ministry is the desire to answer that essential question with helpful resources, while helping others develop a personal, life-changing relationship with God. Here are a few simple steps to begin your own faith journey:

Realise you’re a sinner.

The Bible tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NKJV). No matter how perfect we try to be, the reality is that we will all fail at some point. Acknowledging that you’re a sinner in need of salvation is where your relationship with God begins.

Recognise that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.

The good news? "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8 NKJV) You don’t have to be perfect to have a relationship with God, thanks to the free gift of salvation bought when Jesus died on the cross and rose again three days later. All you have to do is accept the gift of salvation , and God will welcome you with open arms.

Repent of your sin.

The Bible tells us to "repent and be converted" (Acts 3:19 NKJV). The biblical definition of the word repent is “a change of mind that results in a change of action.” Instead of running from God, once you’ve accepted that you’re a sinner and recognised your need for a Saviour, you can run toward Him and His life-changing Gospel.

Receive Jesus Christ into your life.

Becoming a Christian isn’t merely believing some creed or attending church on Sunday mornings. It’s having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! In John 10:27, Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

The Believer’s Prayer

If you’re ready for a relationship with Christ, here is a simple prayer that you can repeat and mean in your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner,
I believe you died for my sins.
Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life.
I confess you as my personal Lord and Savior.
Thank you for saving me.
Amen
